Huron Community Invited to Ribbon Cutting!
The wait is over—and it’s time to Celebrate the Circle!

The City of Huron invites members of the community, local businesses, and project partners to join in celebrating the official reopening of US6 and the completion of the community’s first roundabout joining US6, Jim Campbell Boulevard, and Liberty Drive.

A ceremonial ribbon cutting will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 9 AM, marking the completion of the project that will enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and better connect our community for years to come.

This celebration is more than the reopening of a road—it marks the completion of a significant infrastructure project designed to improve safety, traffic flow, and long-term mobility throughout the community. After months of planning, construction, and cooperation from residents, businesses, and contractors this milestone represents more than a roadway project, it reflects an investment in the future of our community.

“Every great journey includes a few detours,” said City Manager Stu Hamilton. “Today, we’re excited to celebrate where those detours have led us—a safer intersection, a stronger transportation network, and another milestone in our community’s continued growth. We appreciate everyone’s patience throughout the construction phase and are excited to celebrate the opening of a safer, more efficient intersection that will serve our residents for decades to come.”

The ceremony will feature remarks from local officials and the official ribbon cutting. Community members are encouraged to attend, celebrate this milestone, and be among the first to officially travel around the new roundabout.
