Water Use Advisory Lifted
City of Huron - Water Use Advisory Has Been Lifted
There have been no water treatment issues, and the water is safe for consumption!
As of this morning, the main raw water intake for the Huron Water Plant continues to be blocked by ice, however water is currently being drawn from the shoreline by way of using large mobile pumps to keep water production possible.
Staff have been working around the clock in extremely harsh weather ensuring our residents continue to be serviced with water. Many thanks to the dedicated staff from the Water Plant, Water Distribution, Huron Fire, and the Street Department for being all hands-on deck throughout the long weekend.
In addition to the City staff who assisted in this critical situation, we would also like to thank our local partners for their expedited support, ensuring that we have the tools and equipment needed to keep the water flowing. Barnes Nursery, Haynes Construction, Speer Brothers, Coles Energy and Erie County DOES and EMA.
With the upcoming weather forecast, the likelihood of continued problems are high, so please continue to monitor social media and the City’s website for updates.
