US6 Phase II Roundabout

The US 6, Phase II project is well under way. This transformative project will check off a number of issues that have been lingering in the area of US 6, Center Street, and Jim Campbell Blvd., such as: removal of the unwarranted traffic light at US 6 and Center Street, alleviating the confusion of the US 6/Jim Campbell Blvd./ Center Street intersection by closing Jim Campbell Blvd. at Center Street, slowing traffic entering and leaving the City from Route 2, and making school traffic flow more efficiently. This will create a more aesthetically pleasing entrance or gateway into the downtown area of Huron. 

The plan includes extending the bike lane from Williams Street, where it currently ends, west through Van Rensalaer. Future plans include adding a multi-modal pathway along Jim Campbell to connect the bike path at Van Rensalaer to the Lake Erie Electric Trail.
