Huron Boat Basin Receives Two Prestigious Awards
HURON BOAT BASIN MARINA RECEIVES TOP MARKS FOR CLEAN MARINA OPERATIONS Marina Staff Earns Back-to-Back-to-Back Elite Status Award
HURON, OHIO – The Huron Boat Basin Marina is proud to announce that it has been awarded Platinum Status through the Ohio Clean Marina program, the highest level of environmental certification awarded to marinas in the state of Ohio.
Platinum Status represents a significant milestone and reflects the marina’s long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, water quality protection and responsible boating practices along Lake Erie and the Huron River.
The Ohio Clean Marinas program, administered in partnership with Ohio Sea Grant and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, recognizes marinas that go above and beyond in implementing best management practices designed to protect Ohio’s waterways. Platinum Status is reserved for facilities that demonstrate exemplary performance in pollution prevention, waste management, stormwater control, boater education and environmental leadership.
“This designation reflects the dedication of our entire team,” said Doug Steinwart, Director of Huron’s Parks & Recreation Department. “Protecting Lake Erie and the Huron River is not just a requirement, it’s a responsibility. Achieving Platinum Status demonstrates that environmental stewardship is at the core of our daily operations.”
The Huron Boat Basin Marina is also proud to announce that its team earned Elite Fleet tier in the Boater’s Choice Awards from Marinas.com, a distinction awarded to only a small number of top-rated marinas nationwide. This recognition reflects the exceptional efforts of the Boat Basin team and the consistently high ratings and reviews from visiting boaters who value cleanliness, customer service and an outstanding marina experience. This marks the third year in a row that the Boat Basin Marina team has earned this award.
